File consists of 168 photographs, dated April 16, 1959, of Avenue Road, showing a section to be widened, between Bloor Street West in the south and St Clair Avenue West in the north. The photographs show the numerous homes and shops that dominate the stretch of Avenue Road below the Canadian Pacific Railway overpass, and the apartment buildings and homes dominating the stretch above the railway. Documented are intersections with: Bloor Street West, Cumberland Avenue, Prince Arthur Avenue, Yorkville Avenue, Lowther Avenue, Elgin Avenue, Boswell Avenue, Tranby Avenue, Webster Avenue, Bernard Avenue, Davenport Road, Pears Avenue, Chicora Avenue, Roxborough Street West, Dupont Street, Macpherson Avenue, McMaster Avenue, Cottingham Street, Poplar Plains Crescent, Edmund Avenue, Clarendon Avenue, Farnham Avenue, Balmoral Avenue, Foxbar Road, Lynwood Avenue, and St Clair Avenue West.
