Scope & content
File contains original plans and specifications for the railway roundhouse at the bottom of John Street. Although there are a few plans each from 1927 and 1930, the bulk is from 1929. They originate mostly in the Canadian Pacific Railway, Engineer of Buildings, Chief Engineer's Office in Montreal, but some are done by the Railway's Mechanical Department. There are other numbering systems especially in the early years, but most of the plans show numbers 100-JJ2 and B76V-115 LR, often written on both sides of the drawings. Some are superceded by or revisions of other plans. Many from 1929 are titled Canadian Pacific Railway, Ontario District, Toronto Terminal, 120 Foot Engine House, and show plans of the roundhouse, mostly specific Stall Numbers. They also include foundation plans, longitudinal sections, and details of such things as windows and frames, Plan at Pony Truck Drop Pit Pit Stalls, Nos. 24-26, and the Hot Air Heating System.
