- Scope & content
- Fonds consists of photographic records relating to public works projects and the built environment of Toronto. Most of the images were created by David B. Curry while he was working for the City of Toronto Department of Public Works from 1958 to 1982. An avid photographer, Curry brought his camera with him to work and documented many public works projects that he and his colleagues were involved with. He also used his camera to document the city around him, taking many streetscapes, documenting older buildings as well as construction and demolition activities. The fonds also consists of older historical public works images collected by Curry. Primary amongst these are 22 images taken by F.W. Micklethwaite, commissioned by Toronto's City Engineer's Department ca. 1891-1895.
