Scope & content
Series consists of photographs by Peter MacCallum documenting the Massey Ferguson Toronto Plant industrial complex, which was opened on the south side of King Street West at Strachan Avenue, in 1879. A series of these photographs was purchased by Massey Ferguson Properties Ltd., in 1986, in compliance with their Heritage Easement Agreement with the City of Toronto. The photographs document the exterior and the interior of the complex after production had ceased and the machinery had been removed. Several of the photographs were taken by Peter MacCallum in 1982 and 1985.Thirty four of the images (items 71-104) are duplicate, large-format, mounted photographs, produced by Peter MacCallum for his 1988 exhibition at Mercer Union Gallery, titled "Industrial Zone."
