- Scope & content
- Fonds consists of records that document every aspect of the operation of St. Christopher House throughout its history. Fonds includes policy and planning records such as the minutes of the governing board and committees; annual reports, which summarize the organization's activities; financial records covering fundraising and budgeting; staffing records; and photographs of clients and programs. Fonds also includes records documenting all aspects of programming, from planning through implementation to evaluation. These programs range widely to serve many different clients and needs, including, for example, children's programs such as a music school, a day care, and a summer camp, workshops on life skills for teens, a drop-in for women, a meals on wheels program for senior adults, and programs to assist immigrants in establishing themselves in an unfamiliar place.Fonds will provide the researcher with a detailed overview of the organization's evolution from a small, social settlement, financed by its directors and friends and headed by one social worker, to a professional social agency employing qualified social workers and funded by government grants, foundations, and fund-raising events.
