- Fonds consists of photographs of Toronto taken between 1885 and 1895 by the prominant Toronto photographer, F. W. Micklethwaite. There are unique street views documenting the Glen Road Bridge, Yonge Street, Jarvis Street, Sherbourne Street, Bond Street, Toronto Street, King Street, Wellington Street, and Front Street. They show the storefronts, pedestrians, street cars, horse-drawn carriages, and the wooden sidewalks of the day. There are also images of Toronto's skyline and prominent buildings, including St. James' Cathedral, the Horticulture Gardens, the Grand Opera, St. Lawrence Market, the Parlaiment Buildings at Queen's Park, University Library, Trinity College, Victoria College, Knox College, and University College before and after the fire. Photographs documenting Hanlan's Hotel, Doty's Coney Island Carousal and Hippodrome, and the steamship Cibola are also included in this fonds.
