The website of NWT Archives is down (for about 3 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

Extent
approximately 9 cm of textual records and 41 photographs (black and white and colour)
Scope & content
The majority of the textual records are from published sources and includes copies of correspondence about the operation of the Outpost Island mine, reports to the shareholders, and the diamond drill record from the mine site. The original records include four handwritten and typewritten letters dated from 1941; Archie Jamieson wrote one of the letters, and the other letters were written by family and friends who worked at Outpost Island. There are four pages of handwritten notes written by Archie Jamieson documenting the measurements of the various buildings on Outpost Island for the water, piping and electrical lines. In addition, there are original proxy forms for the Slave Lake Gold Mines Shareholders Committee, two share certificates, income tax statement from 1940, and two envelopes addressed to Archie Jamieson that are stamped Outpost Island Post Office, 1941. The photographs, some digital copy photographs, depict the Outpost Island mine site, staff and buildings including the mill, the boat used by employees to leave the site and former recreation centre. The photographs date from the 1940s to the 1990s and include colour photographs that were taken of the abandoned mine site in 1994.
