- Massachusetts Central Railroad Company.Boston, Feb 8th 1879Chas. MacKenzie Esq.City Clerk, Y.C. of MontrealDear Sir,Chas. MacKenzie Esqr.Having read, with considerable interest, the proceedings of a Committee of your City Council, as published in the "Montreal Herald" of the 6th inst., respecting the existing relations between the City of Montreal, and the Provincial Government growing out of the Construction of the S.M.C. & O. Railway, I take the liberty of sending you, by this Mail, a few copies of a pamphlet, which I published some months since, entitled, "The Railway Policy of the Government of Ontario."Although the chief object of the pamphlet was to vindicate myself, professionally, in connection with the original location of the "North Shore Railway" between Quebec and Montreal; yet I think it will be found to contain many facts which should have an important bearing upon the questions at issue between your City and the Provincial Government.Read automatically; may contain mistakes.
