Ce plan présente les quartiers de la ville de Montréal et les municipalités environnantes, leurs limites étant illustrées par les couleurs employées. Il couvre le secteur situé entre le fleuve Saint-Laurent au sud, la municipalité de Verdun et le quartier Émard à l'ouest, les quartiers Ahuntsic et Bordeaux au nord, le quartier Longue-Pointe à l'est. Le plan comporte le tracé des lignes de tramway et est divisé en carrés chiffrés et lettrés d'un quart de mille. Un index, à la base du document, situe les rues au sein de ce quadrillage.
