The website of Simon Fraser University Archives & Special Collections is down (for about 2 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

Scope & content
This collection contains records created and collected by Arjan Singh Chand Brar during his lifetime. A part of records relates to Brar’s interest in the Komagata Maru incident (1914) and the other part relates to his work and involvement with the Khalsa Diwan Society in Vancouver and South Asian community leaving in British Columbia. These records depict how Komagata Maru incident affected the South Asian community from that community point of view. It also documents the struggles of the South Asian community to obtain civil rights in Canada. The records include Brar’s diary of travels and his life in British Columbia (1908-1947), manuscript minutes of The United India Home Rule League and its successor organization located in Vancouver (1920-1922), and correspondence and other records of Khalsa Diwan Society, first Sikh Temple in Vancouver. In addition, the records contain manuscript writings, passenger list and scrapbooks related to Komagata Maru (1914-1922), correspondence of lawyer, Edward J. Bird, who represented the passengers, as well as South Asian community related publications (Hindustanee, India and Canada Monthly), newsletters, bulletins, clippings, and ephemera.
