Includes material relating to the research, writing, editing, publishing, and distribution of articles and books written or edited by Messenger. Series also includes correspondence with colleagues involving collaboration or Messenger's advising on and editing of papers, articles, or other publications. Some material relates to Messenger's acceptance into graduate school, teaching position appointments, and sick leave. Records include correspondence, reviews, papers, journal, notes, proofs and typescripts, and application and appointment forms.
