- What the image shows
- A black-and-white wood engraving showing a head-and-shoulders portrait of a bald man with a full, thick beard and a moustache, turned slightly to his left and wearing a heavy coat with a textured collar. The engraving has a cream-toned paper ground with fine hatched lines shading the background and clothing, and a printed caption beneath reads "Mr. F. N. Gisborne". A handwritten or stamped marking reading "C.J.N. 16/8/1873" appears at the lower right, and a watermark-style credit line "Archives de la Ville de Montréal" is in the bottom corner.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
