- Scope & content
- Item consists of page 71 of the Boyd photograph album. There are nine photographs on the page, which are captioned as follows: 13640, 13641, 13642 - Trench life was carried on under actual service conditions. The men occupied them continuously for 24 hours, opposed by an equal number of the "enemy." Fighting was principally done at night, star shells being freely used. Dugouts for shelter, and machine gun emplacements abounded; 13647 - Thinks he sees a sniper in a tree; 13646 - Chums. One watches while the other sleeps. A bit of a fire feels good to both; 13643 - A snapshot made unknown to the subjects, who are taking full advantage of their "off-spell"; 13648 - Poultry netting and canvas make just as good trench facing as wicker work; 13644 - Signallers in their dugout; 13651 - A quiet time at the corner of King & Yonge Sts.
