Hervey, Treasurer, Canadian Jewish Congress.February 9, 1966Mo'Ess Chittim FundLouis Sharf, Chairman, Mo'Ess Chittim CommitteeMay we again enlist the support of your organization for the Ma'Oos Chittim Fund, which will provide Passover comforts to our needy brethren in Israel, Europe and North Africa.This year the program has been expanded and through the Ma'Oos Chittim, Passover supplies will be provided to Jews in Hungary, Rumania, Czechoslovakia and other areas where it was impossible to send Matzos previously.The Joint Distribution Committee, with which the Canadian Jewish Congress is associated in its overseas relief activities, has already ordered large quantities of Matzos and other Passover products to make sure that the supplies will reach their destination in time for the Holy Days.It is needless to say that the Ma'Oos Chittim has assumed such larger proportions and significance in view of the special circumstances of this year. We are sure that you will agree that it is a unique opportunity for all of us to show our concern over the welfare of our people and to indicate in a tangible way our solidarity and determination to assist and help them. We must double and triple our efforts if we are to live up to the opportunities and rise to the occasion. We hope you will do so.
