- LIBERAL-CONSERVATIVE ASSOCIATION OF GLENGARRY RIDINGGEO. SIMON,Alexandria, Ont., August 23rd 1937.Dear Sir:I have been instructed to call a general meeting of our organization for Monday, August 30th, at 8 p.m. standard time to be held in the McLAREN HALL, Alexandria. The meeting will be addressed by Mr. G. Elmer Johnston, of Brockville, Ont. chairman of Eastern Ontario campaign committee, Hon. George H. Challies, of Morrisburg, Ont., Charles Seguin, K.C., Ottawa, Ont. and others in French and English. It is very important that you, and all your friends attend this meeting, please bring as many of our supporters as you can with you. Make this a big aggressive meeting. We have been endeavouring to get all our wards organized and up to this date, we have had response from most of our wards but there are still a number of wards who have not held their meetings, to elect chairmen and committees, this work must be completed at once so that we can hold our Township meetings. If your ward is yet unorganized, please see that a meeting is called immediately. At this meeting we are holding on Monday, August 30th the matter of setting a date for our convention to select a candidate will be discussed. The above speakers will deliver excellent, interesting addresses, touching on all of the most vital questions, effecting not only our Province, but our own party's welfare. These speakers will be prepared to answer any questions or give any information to our supporters that they wish to have, regarding our policies. We cannot hold a convention to select a candidate until we have a chairman in each ward, so I would ask all chairmen who have not yet called their organization meetings for their ward to do so at once.Be sure and come to this meeting, bring your friends with you, I am,Yours very truly,Secretary.P.S.—Hon. Mr. Earle Rowe our leader will probably attend our convention, if it is possible for us to hold it on Sept. 8th.—G.S.Read automatically; may contain mistakes.
