Scope & content
Certificate printed on light green watermarked paper, with coat of arms imprinted in the background along with the words "Ceskoslovenska Republika." Issued in Czechoslovakia attesting to the citizenship of Marcel Neumann. Bottom center indicates that is was issued in Hlohovec on February 28th, 1947. Top left corner contains a red fiscal stamp with a value of "20k". Narrative: Donor is the wife of Viktor Matus (born Victor Neumann), who survived the war in hiding and came to Montreal in 1949. From Hlohovec, Czechoslovakia. Two older brothers André and Otto were killed in January 1945 uprising. Parents were deported and killed in Auschwitz. Brother Marcel Neumann survived.
