Scope & content
One page. Personal typewritten letter to Chana (Anna) Zilberbogen (born Wartens) from Roberto and Halina Grundland. On top left is a header of Roberto Grundland. They are very pleased with Chana’s detailed letter and relieved to know that her long silence wasn’t due to anything serious. They just want to notify her about Simon’s date of birth. Inform her that Henia already returned a few days ago and therefore, could not get the desired information. She says that the situation in Poland is very poor. Letter finishes with greeting. Narrative: Roberto Grundland was the husband of the paternal aunt of Celinka (Cécile) and Elzbieta (Élizabeth) Zilberbogen. Justyna Grundland (born Zilberbogen) was the sister of the Szygmundt (Simon) Zilberbogen the father of Celinka and Elzbieta. Roberto Grundland had a lot of informations concerning the Zilberbogen family (photographs, films). Szygmundt wrote to his address when he was in the ghetto and Chana (Anna) Zilberbogen (born Wartens), mother of the two girls, as well. Roberto Grundland died in 1961 in Milan.
