- Scope & content
- A sphere supported by a column. The sphere is hollow, with openworked leaves at the top, an incised diamond pattern in the middle and another incised floral-leaf design along the bottom part; the 3 sections of the sphere are separated by a silver band. Along the centre band, 6 hooks are attached, with a hanging bell on each. Attached to the top of the sphere is another column with a decorative crown at the top. The crown has 6 arms, with a line of circles incised on each. Attached at the bottom of the crown, to each arm, is a bell. A beveled column is attached to the very top. The column which supports the sphere is hollow. The top and bottom part of the column has wider rings, incised with vertical lines. In the centre is a repeated design of intertwined, pointed ovals. The column stands on a circular base, with beveled rings. Narrative: An ornament of the Torah scroll; the plural form of writing this is "Rimmonim" (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rimmon).
