- Scope & content
- Letter: regarding fairness of allocation of traplines to the Golden Lake Band. Questions whether field officers gave fair consideration to the Band's requests for registered traplines. States that the Golden Lake Band were disqualified because they were unable to state defmitely that they had trapped in a certain district continuously. Presents the case of Felix Jocko, licence no. 337, who accepted a newly assigned trapline which he later reported was devoid of fur bearing animals. Although he and his wife had trapped continuously for the past 21 years on Lot 18, Conc. 7 of Head Township, this area was given to a non-Indian instead of him. States that this indicates a policy of discrimination against this Indian.
