The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 2 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Scope & content
- Brief: outlining the sources of aboriginal rights to hunting and fishing on unsurrendered land as well as the protection of hunting and fishing rights pursuant to particular treaties in Ontario. Includes excerpts from Royal Proclamation, pre-Confederation treaties (e.g., Robinson, Mississaugas of Credit). Citing several court cases which upheld the reservation of hunting and fishing rights upon surrender and considered Ontario's beneficial interests subject to those reservations. (e.g. Ontario Mining Co. v Seybold (1903), St Catherines Milling and Lwnber Co. v the Queen). Brief focuses on rights to hunt and fish as protected by Robinson Treaties and Treaty No. 3 and exemption from application of provincial regulations on reserves. Does not extend argument fully to unceded lands.
