- Memo: referring to letter of the 8th inst. from Agent Bennett. Reports that a request was received from the Agent to secure a grant of land for an Indian Reserve from the Crown Lands Department of Ontario for the Indians resident in the Township of Nightingale. States that Crown Lands declined to grant them their wish and now the Indians wish to secure a reserve in the Township of Sabine which adjoins the Township of Nightingale in the southeast. States that Mr. Bennett was instructed to tell these Indians that if they belong to the Golden Lake Band they should return to the reserve there.
