- Act: prohibits the killing of beaver from this time forward until Nov. 1, 1900; amendment adds poor settlers to article 1398 which exempts Indians from paying the $5 licence fee after establishing their state of poverty; provides for Lt Gov. in Council (in agreement with the Commissioner of Crown Lands) to erect hunting territories (not to exceed 400 sq. mi. each) which might be leased by private agreement or auction. to one or more persons for a period not exceeding ten years for an annual sum of not less than $1 per square mile.
