Scope & content
Letter: forwarding file No. 67071 re claim by the Mississauga Indian Bands of Alnwick, Rice. Mud and Scugog Lakes as well as the Chippewas of Lake Simcoe and the land has been administered by the old province and then by Ontario as if title were extinguished. Advises that the matter has been brought before the Commissioners appointed to settle claims against the old Province of Canada on one or two occasions but nothing has happened. No result has come from the Province of Ontario either. Suggests that the claim be put before a competent tribunal.
