The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 4 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

Scope & content
Letter: asking what actions the Lord of Durham had taken on the orders of Lord Glenelg dated Aug. 27, 1838, to the effect "that a sufficient tract of land should be set apart for them [the Algonquins and Nipissings of the Lake of the Two Mountains] in the rear of the present range of the Townships on the Ottawa River." States that His Excellency doubts the expediency of giving any land to these Indians beyond such a moderate quantity as may suffice for their settlement. Encloses message to be relayed to the Algonquins and Nipissings of the Lake of the Two Mountains to the effect that he will communicate to Sir George Arthur their request concerning payments of annuities to the Mississaugas.
