The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 2 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Scope & content
- Nominal return: of individuals who have squatted on and taken possession of Islands, parts of Islands, and lots of land on both banks of the Ottawa River claimed by the Nipissing and Algonquin Tribes as hunting grounds. Lists squatters by name, shows number of acres occupied and rental. Note appended to return discusses contents of Ducharme's report which states that there are 100 squatters occupying 3,330 acres of land on islands for which the Indians are only to receive £151.10s. Advises that unless the Government appoint an Officer to collect these rents, the Indians will likely only receive half this sum. Recommends that such Officer should have the power to have these lands surveyed. States that Indians would prefer that Crown assume all hunting ground for annual remuneration.
