The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 3 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

Scope & content
Letter: advising that old Constan Penency and another chief brought him a map made by Kissinsique and old Amable Chevalier (now both dead) showing the tract of country from Lake of Two Mountains to Lake Nipissing. States the hunting grounds and lands allotted to them of old, begins about the Long Sault upwards as far as Lake Nipissing. States they have marked out a lot above the Grand Calumet Portage, some distance above the last settlements, and they wish to have a township or Seigneury given them there. Asks Napier how they are to get possession of this tract Hughes asks if he thinks it would be best to Petition their Father for it, sending down the map to show where they want this land.
