The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 3 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- OC: refusing to issue a proclamation as prescribed by Mr. Tachereau. A family named Ferguson was murdered eight years earlier supposedly by an Indian named Stanislas and his wife (now dead). The Council states that issuing a proclamation would only instill fear in the hearts of settlers living in remote establishments. Suggests instead, that when the Indians come for their presents, they be told that His Majesty will withhold presents until the crimes committed by Indians are accounted for and perpetrators brought to trial. They are not to use violence to keep others from fishing, hunting and settling on the lands they claim are theirs.
