The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 4 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

A notation by Chewett reads: "At the upper end of LAKE du CHAT ends the surveyed Land on the Ottawa River. The distances on this Sketch are measured by the run of the canoes with a common watch, in the months of May & June 1826." Where the Coulonge River meets the Ottawa there is a notation "French Settlement 10 or 12 houses". Where the Black River meets the Ottawa, there is notation 'Indian Burial Ground".
