- Scope & content
- Photo of Justice Harry Batshaw, ca. 1970s, the first Jewish lawyer to be appointed to a Canadian superior court by virtue of his appointment to the Superior Court of Q in 1950. Justice Batshaw was sworn in using a copy of the Hebrew Bible, instead of the traditionally-used Christian Bible. This was considered a controversial move at the time. Courtesy of CJCCCNA.
