- Scope & content
- Item is a photograph of Franco Grosso, an Italian immigrant who came to Canada in 1957. In 1964 Mr. Grosso began operating his street vendor's cart, selling pistachios, cashews, candy apples, and other snacks and toys. While this photograph shows him on the streets of Kensington Market, he was perhaps best known for the position he occupied outside of the Royal Ontario Museum for many years. Mr. Grosso finally retired from the business in 2004.
